Teach and take advantage of a world city

Teach in Greenwich and you can take advantage of everything a world city like London has to offer.

Local area

Greenwich lies on the south bank of the Thames. Our borough is steeped in heritage - the town centre is designated as a World Heritage site while the capital’s oldest Royal Park, Greenwich Park, offers panoramic views of London and Greenwich’s iconic 02 arena.

Greenwich is one of the Mayor of London’s priority areas for growth and regeneration. By 2020, over 40,000 new jobs will be created through the Thames Gateway Development and a major modernisation programme for local services and transport.

As one of the five boroughs hosting the 2012 Olympics the area will see significant investment with an unprecedented regeneration and economic growth.

Tackling inequality

In common with any city, Greenwich faces significant challenges with contrasting affluence and deprivation. Tackling inequality is a top priority in education as well as in the wider community. Our challenge is to ensure that all children have the best start in life.

Successful regeneration, neighbourhood renewal and improving service performance -including raised levels of attainment - are creating the best opportunities for young people in the borough for many generations. Our schools value and celebrate diversity.

We are working with schools to ensure they are led in a way that children enjoy and reach their fullest potential in a secure, happy and challenging environment.

We are looking for exceptional teachers

We are looking for teachers who can inspire learning - people who can encourage pupils from all backgrounds to fulfil their potential.

In return, we can offer you …
