3. Evidence Required - send one of the following for each of the above named people including yourself:

For Full time students a Council Tax Certificate which is provided by the college.
This should include
a. Name and address of the educational establishment/official stamp
b. Student's details -

  • Full name of the student
  • Date of birth (if student on a qualifying course)
  • Statement certifying that student is actually on the course
  • Date course started and date it will end
  • Statement of hours of study/full-time/part-time
  • Statement that it is "Council Tax Student Certificate"
  • Reference to the fact that you are a student for the purposes of the "Local Government Finance 1992"

For 18/19 year olds still at school or at further education colleges either a copy of the first two pages of the child benefit book

or

a letter from the school, or college confirming that the student it still studying, their date of birth and when their course is expected to end.

Non-British spouses of students who are prevented from taking paid employment or receiving benefits should supply their passports or a letter from the Home Office.
