Grass verges and green areas

We maintain all grass areas, shrubs and verges according to a set programme. All litter on grass verges is picked up at least once a week.

Trees

We will remove dangerous branches up to 1.8m (6ft) and trees within 24 hours.

Dogs

We will try to locate the stray dog and remove it to a pound.

In Council-owned buildings …

  • Lifts, stairs, landings and steps: We aim to sweep and mop the lift within three working hours of a report, and clean stairways every week.
  • Bulk collections: All bulky household items will be removed from Council residential blocks within five working days of a report.
  • Chutes/chute rooms: Blocked chutes will be cleared within 24 hours, if an emergency. Repairs will be completed in three to five working days.
  • Lighting in blocks: We aim to replace bulbs by the next working day.
  • Window cleaning: Windows are cleaned as part of a yearly programme. Problems in communal areas of blocks will be dealt with by the Cleansweep staff responsible for the block.
  • Internal graffiti: This will be removed within three working days of a report.
