The reuse and recycling centre (formerly the civic amenity site or waste disposal site) is now safer and easier for residents to use. You can take household rubbish and recycling, as well as furniture, oil filters and wood to the site free of charge - all you need is a resident's permit.

More recycling
In addition to bringing normal waste to the centre, you can also recycle:
- mixed dry recycling: cans, paper, cardboard, plastic and glass
- textiles
- waste oil
- scrap metal
- green waste
- domestic appliances
- car batteries.
Try to separate out your recycling and other rubbish ready to place it in the relevant containers once you get to the site. The containers are clearly marked.
Please note: if you deliver your waste in a van or lorry, you will be charged the full disposal cost.
Permits for residents
If you are a resident, make sure your car is showing your Waste Permit sticker when you visit the site.
New permits
If you need to obtain a permit, or have lost yours, ring us on 020 8921 4661.
Residents will need to provide proof of residency such as a Council Tax bill or utility bill before a new permit is issued.
Vans or lorries
If you're driving a van or lorry, you will be charged full disposal costs for the waste delivered. All commercial businesses are legally obliged to pay for their waste disposal arrangements.
This new system has been introduced in order to minimise the risk to the Council of some traders illegally disposing of their waste as household waste.
Businesses
If you run a business and need to dispose of your waste, you will have to pay the full cost of waste removal. For more information, call 020 8921 6895.
