Bulky household waste

If you want to dispose of something big and bulky, like a sofa or a fridge, you have a number of choices.
  1. Take it - BY CAR ONLY - to the Council's Reuse and recycling centre free of charge.

  2. Use the Council's special collection service.

  3. Take it by van and pay for disposal at the weighbridge at Nathan Way Transfer Station, Thamesmead. Vans will be weighed on and off the weighbridge and you will be charged by the tonne. If the weight is less than a tonne, charges will be pro-rated.

  4. Hire a skip.

  5. Pay another licensed waste carrier to dispose of the goods.
