  • South Market Place

This is a single stop for residents to receive a whole range of services, addressing needs such as:
    • education
    • employment
    • volunteering
    • housing services
    • debt management
    • training
    • older people's services
    • crime reporting
    • anti-social behaviour reporting
    • health and nutrition
    • IT training and facilities.
Residents have found it convenient to have community facilities and services in one place.

South Market Place is based in the youth club and community centre at Avery Hill and the Neighbourhood Management Office at Coldharbour.
  • Age Concern Gardening and Handy Persons project

Handy person mowing the lawnOlder people in Coldharbour and Avery Hill can receive help in maintaining their homes and properties through the Gardening And Handy Persons project.

Those who meet the project criteria can expect help:
    • in their gardens
    • with minor DIY repair tasks in their homes.
This is especially helpful to older people who are unable to carry out their own maintenance work due to poor health or mobility.

The project also aims to encourage older people to take up light gardening as a way to improve health via physical activity.
