Neighbourhood improvement plan

The plan sets out local priorities and actions needed for the Eynsham priority area as identified by the Eynsham panel.

Key projects include the C2K Older Person's Club and Eynsham Wardens.

  • C2K Older Persons' Club

Older women enjoying themselves in a sing-a-long Currently with 60 members, the C2K Older Persons' Club provides a vast range of social activities and directs members to a range of other support services. Activities include:
    • craft
    • physical activities
    • outings
    • talks by guest speakers.
Members can also socialise while having a subsidised, home-cooked meal.

The club aims to improve health by preventing social exclusion.
  • Eynsham Wardens

One of the Eynsham wardens at work This project employs neighbourhood wardens to patrol the Eynsham area. The wardens monitor and report environmental defects, such as:

    • abandoned vehicles
    • fly tips
    • graffiti
    • health and safety hazards.
The wardens also work directly with young people, as well as assist the elderly. This project helps to improve the environment, tackle crime and anti-social behaviour and helps create a sense of respect of the community in local youths.

Originally funded by the Eynsham panel from 2002-06, the project is now financed under the Safer And Stronger Communities theme.
