This project places children in the home of a member of kin, rather than having them taken into the local authority care system.
Kinship care promotes strong relationships and helps to maintain and enhance self esteem. It has been shown to improve educational achievement and lead to positive behaviour.
Between 2004 and 2006, we made 55 referrals, completed 45 assessments and arranged for 27 children to be supported by their kin.
