Neighbourhood renewal is a long-term government- funded approach to improving the quality of life and the prospects of people living in areas of greatest need in Greenwich. It does this by finding new ways of engaging with the community, and supporting services to explore ways of improving the impact and reach of services in disadvantaged areas.
It is concerned with reviving neighbourhoods, and differs from regeneration in that it is concerned with improving the quality of people's lives through improved services and cultural activities as opposed to developing the built environment.
