We will offer you accommodation similar to the type you live in now, under the ‘like for like’ scheme. This means that if you live in a flat, we will offer you a flat or maisonette. If you live in a maisonette, we will offer you a maisonette or a flat. If you live in a house, we will offer you a house – but you can choose to move into a flat or maisonette if you wish.
Households with children under 16
If you currently live in a flat with children under 16, we will consider offering you houses as well as flats. This doesn’t mean we can promise a house, but it does mean we will try to be more flexible in meeting your housing needs.
If your household has grown
If the size of your household has increased since your tenancy started, we will consider you for larger accommodation.
If you have more bedrooms than you need
If you currently have at least two bedrooms more than you need, we will offer you a home with the number of rooms you need plus one spare bedroom. For example, if you are a single person or a couple living in a four-bedroom property, we will offer you a two-bedroom property.
We will compensate you for any loss of bedrooms at the rate of £350 per bedroom.
