The Council has signed a Comprehensive Development Agreement with Berkeley Homes (East Thames) Ltd. Berkeley Homes is the Council's development partner.
Berkeley Homes will provide, among other things:
- the majority of new homes
- community facilities
- improved transport infrastructure
- local shops
- a new extended park.
Other partners
The Council and Berkeley Homes are working with other partners, including:
- Southern Housing Group and ASRA - two housing associations working with Berkeley Homes to provide affordable housing in the area
- Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) - the national housing and regeneration agency formed by the union of what were formerly the Housing Corporation and English Partnerships; the HCA has agreed to contribute about £6 million to the first phase of affordable housing in Kidbrooke.
In addition, a separate grant of nearly £45 million will pay for:
- planning applications
- the demolition of the Ferrier Estate
- preparatory and infrastructure works for the cleared site.
