Radiation
We monitor the background levels of both gamma and beta radiation. In conjunction with other London authorities, we also operate a continuous gamma radiation alarm and submit data to the government’s national database.
Complaints and enquiries should be made to the pollution control team on 020 8921 8167, or by email to
pollution.monitoring@greenwich.gov.uk
.
Emergency contact
If you suspect a dangerous radiation problem that requires immediate action, telephone the emergency number on 020 8854 8888.
For further information
Visit the
radiation pages of the Health Protection Agency website
for information and advice on radiation hazards and how to protect against them.
