Chemical spillages and hazardous waste
Contact us for advice on the safe disposal of chemical or hazardous waste, or to report a spillage you suspect is dangerous.
Chemical spillages
Pollution control works with the Fire Brigade, Police and other public services to respond to chemical incidents.
If you suspect a chemical spillage, telephone the emergency number on 020 8854 8888.
Hazardous waste
Greenwich Council runs a hazardous waste collection and disposal service in partnership with the City of London. This service is provided free of charge to householders and schools where the quantity of waste is less than five small or three large sheets of asbestos and/or chemical waste less than 50 litres/kilograms.
For quantities greater than these, a charge will be incurred. Commercial customers are also entitled to this service at a cost.
To contact the hazardous waste collection and disposal service call 020 7332 3433.
