Greenwich was the first local authority in the country to declare a Low Emission Zone (LEZ).
What is an LEZ?
An LEZ is an area that has restrictions on the type and age of vehicles permitted in it.
This means that we control vehicle emissions in the zone by preventing vehicles that emit high levels of pollution from entering.
Where is the LEZ?
The LEZ will operate around The O2 (formerly the Dome). This is a practical example of how we can control traffic emissions by controlling vehicle movement.
