Applications for regularisation
If work has been carried out illegally after 11 November 1985, the regulations allow Greenwich Building Control to check the work and issue a certificate of regularisation.
This is not an alternative way of dealing with current building works.
If you are the building owner and want work to be regularised, you need to apply and we need to see the works before we can make a decision to issue a regularisation certificate. The application should contain information about the illegal work and any proposed steps to make the work comply.
When we have considered the application we may need some parts of the works opened up for inspection. We can then tell you what, if anything, has to be done before the certificate can be issued.
Application form
Download and print an application form with guidance or contact our offices for your form and more information.
Charges
There is a charge, which should be sent with the application. VAT does not apply to this process.
