Support for professionals

Through our association with Local Authority Building Control (LABC), we are able to offer a number of schemes to help our customers through the building control process.

So if you're a contractor, architect or developer we may be able to help with fast-tracking the approvals process or inspections.

Approvals processes

Depending on how your proposals have been put together, you can choose from:

1. Full plan approvals - obtaining approval to the whole scheme at an early stage

2. Staged approvals - staging approvals to phase with your design process. We recognise that for large complex schemes it is not always possible to submit all plans before work begins on site.

3. Building Notice approvals - in some cases going straight to site under a Building Notice route.
In each case you can still be on-site and constructing within just 48 hours.

4. Type approvals - if you intend to build using a system of construction or a 'type' of building, you may find the ‘Type Approval’ process helpful.

Quicker inspections

On a commercial build, lost time represents lost money. We recognise this and usually a morning telephone call will result in a site inspection the same day. Weekend and evening inspections can often be arranged.

Partnering

If you have developed a good working arrangement with Greenwich Building Control – or perhaps a Local Authority near to your own offices – you can engage in a Partnership Authority Scheme (PAS). This allows you to have your plans approved at a location of your choice while the site inspection process remains with the local offices.
