If you are thinking of saving energy and money by adopting a low-carbon lifestyle, the Energy Saving Trust advice centre may be able to help.

The advice centre is funded by the government and is run by the Energy Saving Trust.

Advice on energy, water and waste

You will be able to learn about:

  • the latest grants and offers

  • contact details of local professional installers for cavity wall and loft insulation (NOTE: as of 2008, all over 70s are entitled to free insulation)

  • ways of reducing your fuel bills through heating controls and updating your boiler

  • energy efficient appliances and the latest in generating your own renewable energy

  • ways of saving energy and money on your personal transport

  • other money saving options including how to save up to £240 on reducing food waste.

Home energy check

You can also receive a free personalised Home Energy Report with plenty of energy saving tips by completing a home energy check form online.
