A former churchyard of St Mary’s Church, with a view of the Thames.
This ornamental garden features a lion monument commemorating bare-knuckle prize fighter, Tom Cribb.
Due to its past importance as a navigation point for river traffic, the church is entitled to fly the Red Ensign on ceremonial occasions. Within the church is a stained glass window created as a memorial to those who died in the Princess Alice disaster of September 1878.
