Green space
Parks and gardens
With over 50 parks, Greenwich definitely lives up to the green in its name. And that is not including other types of green space such as allotments and nature reserves.
There is a mixture of formal gardens, wildflower meadows and woods to explore. Just choose an area and discover what it has to offer.
Help local parks win a makeover
Avery Hill Park and Maryon Park have been included on a shortlist to win a grant of £400,000 from the Mayor’s Priority Parks programme, by casting your vote you can help them win a potential makeover.

Walks
Our
Park Ranger Service
puts on slide shows and guided walks through a variety of Greenwich parks (including tours of the animal park at
Maryon Wilson Park
).
If you are feeling more adventurous you can take yourself on a
Green Chain Walk
. With its network of footpaths that runs across the central, eastern and southern parks of the borough, there are plenty of routes to explore.
