Local issues
The Council is composed of 51 Councillors elected every four years by Greenwich residents. These elected members are accountable to the whole community and have a duty to all their constituents, including those who did not vote for them.
They sit on various committees that form part of the Council's consultative and decision-making processes on all matters affecting borough residents, from planning applications and housing to the running of schools, transport improvements and leisure facilities.
They also meet up regularly as the

to debate and decide on key policies, strategies. The Mayor chairs this meeting.
London issues
We also have representatives on the Greater London Assembly ensuring our voice as a borough is heard, and they can be contacted on London-wide issues.
National and European issues
For matters of national interest there are a number of Members of Parliament you can contact and for European-wide issues we have also listed the names of the Members of the European Parliament who can also be contacted.
