The redevelopment of New Haddo (now known as the Rubicon) is a partnership between the Council, Bellway Homes, London & Quadrant and Ujima housing associations.
Demolition of the 200+ homes was completed in late 2004. Bellway has started building the 504 new homes, which are a mixture of homes for sale, and shared equity and affordable rent homes.
About 180 homes have been completed. A number have been let to people who have been rehoused from the Ferrier Estate.
Phase 2 is under construction, and the whole scheme is due to be completed by Autumn 2008.
Over £12m is being obtained over the four years from 2004 to 2008 for investment in the housing capital programme. This will fund Decent Homes, Kidbrooke development, and other housing investment priorities.
