Helping Greenwich: decent homes
Greenwich is undergoing a programme of regeneration.
Our aim is to transform our town centres, estates, housing stock and Council properties.
Helping local business
Any Council property that is no longer in use will be sold to local businesses. This will help create jobs and revitalise some of our town centres.
Council housing
Greenwich is working hard to improve standards in Council homes and to provide new homes in key areas of the borough.
That's why £220million is being spent to improve the existing housing stock. This is part of the government's Decent Homes programme.
Building new homes
Woolwich is currently benefiting from a programme of large-scale regeneration. This is providing many new homes on the riverfront and in the town centre.
You can read more about our revamp for Woolwich homes here.
New homes are also planned for Kidbrooke, and the development of homes at the Rubicon site (the former New Haddo estate) is well underway.

Beacon status
Greenwich Council was awarded Beacon status for its development of affordable housing. The Council was awarded Beacon status for the quality and quantity of affordable housing built over the last few years.
