Education and schools

Two students Building schools: the future of Greenwich children
Greenwich Council wants to see all Greenwich schoolchildren get the best possible start in life.

Investment in schools is at record levels as we rebuild and refurbish 26 schools across the borough to improve learning environments for young people.

Work is under way

Schools already transformed under this programme include the award-winning Mulgrave Primary School and Early Years Centre in Woolwich, the new G-Plus Post-16 Centre on Shooters Hill and Gordon Primary School in Eltham.

New schools

We’ve also won Government backing for Building Schools for the Future – our programme to invest over £200m to refurbish or rebuild our secondary schools over the next decade.

As part of the first phase of this programme, three new schools will be built in the borough and two more will undergo complete refurbishment.
