Our departments
The Chief Executive's Department has overall responsibility for Council administration and operations.
The department includes Finance and Customer Services, Human Resources and Organisational Improvement, Legal Services, Community Safety and Enforcement, Communication, Policy and Partnership and Modernisation.
The Adults and Older People's Services Department has responsibility for services to both promote the independence and well being of adults and their carers in the borough,to protect those who are vulnerable and to tackle health inequalities.
The Children's Services Department provides social care services for children and young people, all education services, early years and special needs services, and youth and play services.
The Culture and Community Services Department's areas of responsibility include leisure services, sport, the Greenwich Heritage Centre, arts, libraries, parks and open spaces, filming, community centres, voluntary sector services, trading services and preparations for the Olympics.
Neighbourhood Services provide key services that are delivered to people in their neighbourhoods. These include all housing services, as well as street care and waste collection services.
The Regeneration, Enterprise and Skills Department has responsibility for regeneration, economic development, transport, parking, planning and property.
