To obtain British citizenship you must apply through the Home Office, Immigration and Nationality Directorate (IND).
How much does it cost?
There is a
fee
for applications and reductions are made when people apply as a family unit.
How can I apply?
Applications can be obtained via the
Home Office
website.
To become a citizen you must be able to prove proficiency in the English language and pass the mandatory UK Living Test, which can be taken at centres across London.
What is a citizenship ceremony?
If your application for British citizenship is successful, the Home Office will write inviting you to a

Together with the invitation, you will receive guidance notes explaining the next steps to take, the wording of the oath or affirmation of allegiance and citizenship pledge, your personal details for you to check, and the telephone number and address of the council. You should contact us to book the next available ceremony.
What are the benefits of becoming a British citizen?
