Eltham Palace Historical: Eltham Palace
Eltham is located to the south of Greenwich borough. Eltham has a long history and is known internationally for its historic palace, which is one of London and the UK's most distinctive visitor attractions.
The town and surrounding areas contain many other architecturally interesting buildings that are physical evidence of the past.

Transport

Eltham benefits from good road, rail and bus links.

The train service offers a fast connection to central London via London Bridge station. The town is served by 16 bus routes connecting to residential areas and other local centres.

By road, Eltham town centre is close to the A205 (South Circular), the A20 and the A2. This provides access to south London and the south east.

Shopping, Dining and Entertainment

Eltham's traditional town centre offers a good mix of retail outlets, combining specialist independent shops with national chain stores such as Marks and Spencer, Debenhams and Next.

There is also a good selection of public houses, restaurants and cafes.

A farmers market operates in Passey Place between 10am and 3pm on the third Sunday of every month.

Passey Place also hosts occassional visits from speciality markets, along with a programme of street entertainment.
