Tourism

Tourism in Greenwich is based on its unique assets of architectural heritage, which are of world significance, set within a modern and vibrant quarter of London.

Greenwich has a diverse cultural life, good transport links, eight miles of Thames river frontage and top class facilities for sport, theatre, music and dance.

Tourism is worth £532 million to the local economy each year and contributes towards around 25% of all jobs locally.

The borough of Greenwich has a wealth of visitor attractions, which help to bring in over 9 million visitors a year to the area.

Maritime Greenwich was awarded World Heritage Site status in 1997, which adds greatly to the borough’s standing, and increases its attractiveness as a visitor destination.
