Tourism is worth £532 million to the local economy each year and contributes towards around 25% of all jobs locally.
The borough of Greenwich has a wealth of visitor attractions, which help to bring in over 9 million visitors a year to the area.
Maritime Greenwich was awarded World Heritage Site status in 1997, which adds greatly to the borough’s standing, and increases its attractiveness as a visitor destination.
The Tourism Development Department
Greenwich's Tourism department is responsible for the strategic and economic development of tourism in the borough.
It is also responsible for destination marketing and promotion.

Greenwich Tourist Information Centre
The Tourism Department also operates the Greenwich Tourist Information Centre (TIC) at Pepys House, Cutty Sark Gardens.
The TIC serves 700,000 local residents and visiting tourists per year.
