Employment, learning and training

Greenwich Local Labour and Business (GLLaB) - established in 1996 - provides an access link for residents to thousands of new jobs being created locally.
GLLaB offers a job brokerage and training service that matches residents to job opportunities with contractors and employers on all major development sites in Greenwich.

Residents looking for work are encouraged to register through GLLaB's High Street Recruitment Centre in Woolwich, its on-site Work and Learn Centre at the Greenwich Peninsula, or one of 18 community outreach venues.

Training and support

GLLaB works proactively to identify the type of jobs available and skills required and is able to devise customised training packages linked to a guaranteed interview.

It also works with people who are further from the labour market, offering specialist support and work-placements to develop employability and skills.

The GLLaB model has been adopted as the mechanism for ensuring residents across the five host boroughs have access to jobs created by the London Olympic and Paralympic Games.
