How we did it
About Greenwich
Greenwich is a famous the world over for its industrial, military, maritime and royal heritage. However, Greenwich is also a borough of great contrasts and diversity. We are experiencing huge social, economic, structural and cultural change.
Greenwich has an important role to play in the development of the capital's economy, which is recognised internationally as significant growth area for new homes and businesses.
Population
Our current population is 221,400 and is forecast to increase dramatically by 28,000 by the year 2016.
Development projects
Greenwich is already one of London’s leading providers of affordable housing across full range of home types and tenures. Significant developments projects already underway or in the pipeline include:
Greenwich Peninsula (Meridian Delta Ltd)
Greenwich Millennium Village
The Royal Arsenal
New Haddo
Kidbrooke.
These schemes alone will produce over 20,000 new homes, of which some 7,000 will be affordable homes for rent, sale and shared ownership.
