2. Best Value
Best value is a legal duty introduced by the Local Government Act 1999. It requires councils to ensure they are making continuous improvements to the quality and value for money of the services they provide.

3. Comprehensive Area Assessment
Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA), is a new way of assessing local public services in England. Introduced in 2009, it examines how well public bodies are working together to meet the needs of the people they serve. It is a joint assessment made by a group of six independent inspectorates.
