Statement of Community Involvement

As part of the Local Development Framework, the Council must produce a Statement of Community Involvement (SCI).

The SCI sets out how the Council intends to involve the public and other stakeholders in:
  • the preparation, alteration and continuing review of planning policy documents
  • consultation on planning applications.
The submission version of the SCI is now with the Secretary of State for examination.

NOTE: Some relevant documents are available from this page. Where 'pdf' is indicated, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the document. The reader can be downloaded using the links on your right.

Submission Version Statement of Community Involvement

The submission version SCI was published for consultation from 13 August to 5 November.

What happens next?

An independent inspector will consider the representations on the submission version SCI at an Examination in Public (EIP).

The EIP is scheduled to take place in the Town Hall, Woolwich, at 10am on Thursday, 22 January 2009.

The inspector will then issue a report, which is binding on the Council. The Council must make any changes required by the inspector before adopting the SCI.

Previous consultation

An earlier draft SCI - known as the pre-submission version - was available for public consultation in October 2007.
