Your participation can make a difference

School meals

You wanted an improvement in the standard of school meals. With the help of Jamie Oliver, we invested in the launch of a new menu of healthy school meals.

Recycling

We listened to your concerns about recycling. With our partners, we built the Material Recycling Facility, one of the most up to date facilities in Europe. This has significantly increased recyling in the borough.

Abandoned cars

You complained about abandoned cars. We cut the removal times in half and 50% more abandoned cars have been removed from our streets.

Better exam results

You wanted improvements in exam results. We introduced the Greenwich First campaign and our schools are now the sixth most improved in the UK.

Cutting crime

You wanted to see crime cut. We worked with the police to introduce mobile CCTV facilities to help reduce crime.

Improved transport

You wanted improved transport. We led calls to bring Crossrail through Charlton and for three extra river crossings to improve links across the capital.

Cleaner streets

You complained about dirty streets. We piloted Cleansweep and it is already proving a success. Our refuse collection service now misses fewer collections than most other London boroughs.
