Get Together 2007
It’s been a great summer for Great Get Togethers in Greenwich.
We’ve held six of these events since May, in parks and open spaces round the borough.
Thousands take part
Thousands of people turned up to enjoy fun activities, see top entertainment acts and have their say about local issues.
Tthere was something for everyone, from thrilling cycling displays and have-a-go dance workshops to French-themed street entertainment and free river trips on the Thames Clipper.
Our summer line-up of Great Get Togethers finished with a flourish in mid July with three events in three weeks.
First, we had a Great Get Together at Winns Common in Plumstead on 30 June, then a Great Get Together in Greenwich Town Centre for the Tour de France cycle race on 8 July, and, finally, a Great Get Together Talk Cafe at the Trust Thamesmead Festival on 14 July.
Talk Cafes
Many local residents visited the popular Talk Cafés at our Get Togethers, where they had the opportunity to talk to their local Councillors, write a suggestion on our Suggestion Wall, and go online to complete our surveys.
Residents were keen to find out more about their local services. Services such as Cleansweep and Community Safety and Integrated Enforcement reported much interest from residents.
The Council now has a lot of feedback about the things that people want for their neighbourhoods. This extremely useful information will be evaluated in detail.
