Great Get Togethers 2008

 

What are the Get Together events?

Greenwich Council's Great Get Togethers are community events giving people the chance to have their say on local issues.

Great Get Togethers are a key part of the Council's community consultation programme.

The events are located around the borough, in parks and open spaces.

At a Great Get Together you can enjoy a variety of fun attractions and live entertainment for free. You will find a wide variety of information stalls and a Healthy Living marquee.

At the heart of each event is a Talk Café marquee where you can enjoy free refreshments and give feedback on local issues by writing your suggestions on the suggestion wall, or filling in questionnaires and online surveys.

You can also meet local councillors and tell them your views face to face.

This year's free attractions:

Sports and arts

  • Live entertainment with a focus on local performers
  • Climbing wall, assault course and inflatable football pitch
  • Sports taster sessions, sports coaching and cycling activities

Health and fitness

  • Healthy Living marquee supported by Greenwich Teaching Primary Care Trust
  • Alternative therapies
  • Health and nutrition advice
  • Fitness testing
  • Dance and exercise workshops

Fun and information

  • Techno-activity van for young people
  • Craft demonstrations and workshops for all ages
  • Children’s soft play, bouncy castles and trampolines
  • Information stalls on local services, green issues and much, much more.
Please note that the range of attractions will differ for each event and individual event attractions will be confirmed nearer the time.
