Your input is one of the most important parts of the Scrutiny reviews that we work on.
Our review process seeks comments and evidence given by local people and organisations.
Our aim is to make it as easy as possible for you to give your views on the issues under examination and your hopes for the outcome of the review.
Contributing to a review
When we start a review, our Overview and Scrutiny Committee or relevant Scrutiny Panel will generally seek written evidence from local people and organisations outside the Council.
This written evidence might take the form of a general request for you to provide your views on the topic that we're researching, or evidence on the subject under review. Occasionally, we will distribute a questionnaire which asks people for their views.
We publish invitations to submit written evidence for our Scrutiny reviews in the Council’s fortnightly newspaper Greenwich Time. The invitations are also publicised on this website.
What happens next?
Once written evidence has been evaluated alongside other evidence like research findings or performance data, the Scrutiny body conducting the review often invites individuals or organisations to attend special meetings to answer questions in their areas of expertise, and/or to expand on the evidence they have already submitted.
If you are invited to attend, we will do our best to send you a list of topics that the Panel wants to discuss at least a week before the meeting. This will give you the chance to prepare.
Please see our guidance on submitting evidence to a Scrutiny review for more.
