Panel responsibilities
The Council is determined to make social inclusion integral to its organisational structure, policy and practices. This panel supports this aim and, in particular, the implementation of the Local Government Equality Standards.
Services
Reduce discrimination and promote equality of race, gender, disability, age and sexual orientation
Reduce poverty, particularly child poverty, and tackle financial exclusion
Improve access to local services
Regenerate the most disadvantaged areas in the borough
Raise educational standards
Reduce health inequalities
Improve access to good quality affordable housing
Reduce crime and the fear of crime
Performance monitoring
This panel is responsible for monitoring service performance indicators, concentrating on those third and fourth quarter performances which fall within its remit.
