The Finance and Central Services Scrutiny Panel examines a range of corporate services such as human resources, and legal and finance services. Its remit includes the benefits and Council Tax and revenues services that are provided directly to the public.

Attending meetings

You have a right to attend council meetings.

If you want to put forward a question on an agenda item for consideration at the meeting, it must be received in writing 24 hours before the meeting.

Panel responsibilities

The responsibilities of the panel include some of the most fundamental issues at the heart of the Council's operation, like its ability to learn, change, develop and reorganise in a period of significant change.

It also focuses on time-limited reviews and managing sickness absence.

The specific areas of responsibility are:

  • Human resources and organisational development
  • Internal communications
  • Performance management
  • Internal audit
  • Pensions
  • E-Government - 24/7 review

Performance monitoring

The panel also monitors service performance indicators, and focuses on all third and fourth quarter performances that fall within its remit.
