The Panel agreed the Code at its first meeting and adopted the Councillor/Officer Protocol and Guidance on Good Practice in Planning.

Panel procedure

The Probity and Conduct Panel has established sub-committees to assess complaints that members have failed to comply with the Code of Conduct.

The assessment sub-committee will carry out an initial assessment of a complaint.

If it decides the complaint does not merit further action, the review sub-committee may be asked to review the decision.

Where the complaint is referred to the Probity and Conduct Panel, it may decide the matter should be considered at a hearing of the Panel.

Criteria and procedures
