How they work

 
Area Planning and Environment Committees are responsible for considering non-strategic planning applications where one of the following applies:

i) the proposal would not accord with the Council’s approved planning policies and the Chief Officer’s recommendation is to grant permission

ii) there are two or more objections to the application and the Chief Officer's recommendation is to grant permission

iii) a Councillor requests that the application be determined by Committee.
