The Council is responsible for allocating licences and making sure that licensing regulations are enforced.

This includes licensing:

  • the retail sale of alcohol
  • supply of alcohol by clubs
  • provision of entertainment (live music, recorded music, dancing, indoor sports, boxing or wrestling, films, plays)
  • provision of late night refreshment (night cafes).
