Attending council meetings

You have the right to attend any Council meeting except for the Leader's meeting and closed meetings. You can also ask questions at Council meetings.

You can see agendas and minutes of previous meetings before a meeting. Copies will also be available for public use during the meeting. For more information, see our meeting papers information page.

When and where

See the meetings schedule for dates and times of upcoming meetings. You can also find these details at:

Who organises meetings?

Each meeting is organised by a Committee Officer whose contact details appear on the front of a Committee agenda. You can find their details on the Committee Services contact page.

Do I need to inform the Council if I plan to attend a meeting?

You are not obliged to let us know, but if you do, we can make sure we have sufficient seating.

What if I need a babysitter or carer in order to attend?

Allowances are available if you need a babysitter or carer in order to attend (except for Area Planning and Environment Committees). Please ask the Committee Officer for a form at the meeting.
