Greenwich Local Labour and Business (GLLaB) has once again been awarded the prestigious Charter Mark – the Government’s national standard for excellence in public service.
GLLaB was first awarded Charter Mark status in 2002.
In order to achieve Charter Mark status an organisation must show that it:
- sets standards and performs well
- engages with its customers, partners and staff
- is fair, accessible and promotes choice
- continues to develop and improve
- uses its resources effectively
- helps to improve opportunities and quality of life for the communities it serves.
Charter Mark report
The Charter Mark Assessor visited GLLaB’s Head Office in Woolwich in February of this year. He then went on to see their Work and Learn Centre on the Greenwich Peninsula.
In his resulting report, he commended GLLaB for its Best Practice in the areas of partnership working, and for the improvements it has made to the accessibility of its services.
"In setting standards and performing well GLLaB has developed effective means for ensuring that standards remain meaningful, and performance is carefully monitored.
"GLLaB are making the best use of the human, financial and physical resources available to them.
"The whole purpose of the organisation is to assist in the regeneration of the local area, and to improve the quality of life for local residents. GLLaB goes well beyond what could be expected."
