Workforce development

GLLaB is also able to provide information on local job opportunities to people already in employment - including people working part-time; less than 16 hours per week; and/or in receipt of In-work tax credits.

From time to time, and dependent on current Government funding opportunities, GLLaB provides training to employed local residents with low qualifications to support skills gap needs in key sectors such as:

  • business services
  • retail
  • tourism and hospitality
  • construction and manufacturing.
In addition, GLLaB is working with employers for the introduction of Train to Gain initiatives delivering sector skills NVQ training.
