Helping lone parents back to work
Greenwich Local Labour and Business have a Work for Families Project to help lone parents to get back to work.
If you are a lone parent and would like to return to work after a period raising your children, we can help you. We can provide you with a Work for Families Adviser, who will discuss your goals and provide free support to help you back into employment. Our advisers can be contacted in
Children's Centres
across the borough.
In addition to advice we can help you to access childcare, give information about benefits and tax credits – including 'better off in work' calculations – and support you with job search, CVs and interview techniques. Where appropriate we can organise paid work experience placements, or can access a range of training opportunities.
For further information about support to access training/employment call GLLaB on 020 8312 7960, or project partners Jobcentreplus on 020 8271 5746. For advice on accessing childcare, call the Children’s Information Service on 020 8921 6921.
The Work for Families Project is funded by Neighbourhood Renewal.
