How to arrange a road closure

1. For a major event (one-off events or events that occur once a year) you need to contact us at least three months in advance of the event. You can either email edi.highways@greenwich.gov.uk or telephone one of our Senior Traffic Engineers:
   • Harvi Panesar (SE2, SE28, SE18 east of the A205): 020 8921 5579

   • Graham Aldridge (SE7 SE10, north SE3, SE18 west of the A205,): 020 8921 5587
2. For smaller events, such as street parties, you will need to contact us at least six weeks in advance.
   • Please email edi.highways@greenwich.gov.uk, giving us details about the event, and a contact telephone number.
   • Once we have discussed your event in more detail, we will send you an application form for a temporary road closure.
   • This closure can only be granted with the written agreement of the police, to whom you must submit the application form (as they also have to make appropriate arrangements). The closure requires a traffic regulation order.
3. Please be aware that all costs involved for both the closure and diversion signing will have to be borne by the event organiser. These costs are subject to change on 1 April each year.
4. No more than three street parties can be held within a 12-month period.
