Parking ticket appeal
Visiting a resident
If you received a parking ticket when visiting a resident, you may be able to qualify for a reduced fine.
Do I qualify?
Under a commitment made to the Mayor of London, the value of the parking ticket may be reduced if:
you were visiting a resident and can provide evidence of it
AND you were parked in a residents' or shared use parking space
AND the parking ticket was for contravention code 12, that is, not clearly displaying either a permit or voucher, or a pay-and-display ticket issued for that place.
What do I need to do?
If you think you qualify for the reduction, write to us with proof that you were visiting a resident.
Proof of your visit should be in the form of a parking permit or visitors' voucher valid on the date of the contravention (shown on the parking ticket). You should NOT make any payment at this stage.
If your proof is valid, we will confirm that it is acceptable for you to pay at the reduced (less serious) rate, with a further 50% discount if you pay within 14 days of the confirmation.
