Remember to renew your Freedom Pass

If are a Freedom Pass holder, don't forget that passes will expire on 31 March 2010. The good news is that the new Freedom Passes will be valid for five years instead of two.

Renewal dates are allocated based on your surname. The renewals now take ten working days to process from the time you visit the Post Office, and will be delivered to your home address.

Disabled persons' Freedom Pass renewal procedure

If you are renewing your disabled persons' Freedom Pass, you will be receiving renewal forms through the post. You will need to return the completed forms as soon as possible and wait for your letter of authorisation from the Mobility team.

Once you receive the letter, take all of these items to one of the Post Offices listed in the letter of authorisation:

  • your letter of authorisation from the Mobility team
  • new photographs
  • proof of address
  • proof of identity (or your existing Freedom Pass).
You will not receive a letter of authorisation if you do not meet the criteria. In this case, you have a right to appeal.
