Dial-a-ride provides, seven day a week, door-to-door transport for anyone who finds it difficult or impossible to use ordinary bus services or the tube.
Who is eligible?
You are automatically eligible for membership of Dial a Ride if you are:
• a current member of Taxicard
• in receipt of Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance
• registered blind
• in receipt of Higher Rate Attendance Allowance ( for women aged over 60 and men aged over 65)
• in receipt of a War Pension Mobility Supplement
You do not have to be registered disabled, it may just be that you have difficulty climbing stairs onto buses for example.
How to apply?
You will need to register with dial-a-ride by telephoning and requesting a registration form (see right).
How does it work?
Once you have completed and returned the form you will be able to make a booking via telephone.
The minibus will come and collect you from your door and take you to your chosen destination.
How much?
The cost of the service is similar to the cost of using the bus service.
