Get on your bike in Greenwich
Greenwich is a great place to cycle through, just follow the riverside path and take in the view of the Thames to see why.
Local cycle routes
The majority of cycle routes form part of the London Cycle Network, a London-wide initiative that aims to provide a safe and convenient network of cycle routes. Find out about these from the Greenwich Tourist Information Centre which stocks the London Cycle Guides.
National cycle routes
The National Cycle Route from Inverness to Dover passes in front of Royal Arsenal Gardens so you can access local cycle paths from here. Sustrans, the sustainable transport charity, provides more information on cycle routes through London and across the UK.
Want to join a cycling group?
Join the Greenwich Cyclists Group if you would like to go on organised rides and attend special events. They meet informally every first Wednesday of the month.
Network expansion
The cycle network is currently being expanded within the borough and is expected to cover 80 kilometres (50 miles), linking residential areas with all the major centres of employment, retail, leisure and transport across the capital.
