Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy
The aim of neighbourhood renewal is that no one should be disadvantaged by where they live.
The Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy sets out a ten to 20-year vision that is being turned into action, with residents and service providers playing a full part in determining the priorities and implementing the plans.
The strategy itself outlines the challenges we face, where we wish to be and how we believe this can be achieved. Where there are existing projects or proposals, they will be considered under the terms of the strategy. Where they are not, programmes and projects can be commissioned.
Who does what?
The Greenwich Partnership and the Neighbourhood Renewal Unit are responsible for the implementation of the strategy, with a team based within the Council managing delivery of the programme.
Funding
Neighbourhood Renewal has a funding programme until 2008 to implement the strategy, and is focused on making a difference in the most deprived areas of Greenwich.
